After so many years of pain and struggle, seeking and learning about myself, I have come to understand that our human seeking is the most natural thing, instead of feeling like a loser never arriving.
We’re here, to begin with, as this human expression. If we were to exist as anything else, it would be different because we are born with the most sophisticated computer, our brain and the mind constantly looking to make sense of things.
For those reasons, it makes perfect sense that we all have so many questions and doubts, and since our primary need is for certainty, no wonder we experience a lot of uncertainty in our life; there isn’t much of it for any of us. Yet as humans, we must have it to survive and thrive. It is an excellent contrast to life we weren’t taught to look at.
And that’s why seeking seems like a lost cause for many, a never-ending path to “arrive” and be free, but it’s the most natural thing.
We are natural seekers; it’s part of our human existence; it’s what separates us from other living creatures.
Suppose we can arrive at this understanding without dwelling and feeling about the point to it all. It’s who we are underneath it all.
My last 20 years of trying to be free helped me see this truth and relax on my journey to arrive and be free.
I know now that me ever arriving and being full free of pain and struggle is most likely impossible.
We can never be entirely free because we are humans who feel and are controlled by our five senses.
We need to learn how to not fall into the trap of the mind seeking certainty and consistently comments, questions, doubts and fears; it’s the way the reason is.
Our freedom lies in knowing that we are not just what’s visible and that we are not our feelings and issues.
All of that is something we may be experiencing and going through, and that’s how it is.
If it’s happening, it’s inevitable.
Surrender is the path; we are dropping the resistance toward what’s happening.
Our humanness is equipped with everything we need to go through with what’s present.
Our intelligence, faith, wisdom, and body must heal, and our ability to choose is where our healing or overcoming comes from.
Our need to arrive is the most natural way our mind seeks certainty, and since there isn’t much proof of us ever coming and being entirely free, worry and internal uncertainty become ever-present.
Trusting is just the way things are, always have been and will be; seeing the complexity of our modern world that strengthens this uncertainty, we can relax on our seeking journey.
Seeking to be more present in everything, seeking to rest in what we know to be accurate, to create our certainty at the moment, in our breath and use what we already have to support our journey and make it easier and more enjoyable. This way, you can see the other side of seeking.
If it’s not the most significant part of us as humans, then it’s probably right up top, along with our need to survive, thrive and know God.
And that’s why we are here in this earth suit/human body.
Seek my friend, seek to know thyself even more deeply, seek to love and experience more, strive to thrive and be fully expressed; that’s why we’re here.
Just remember that all that life brings to you is inevitable; it’s happening, making it so. So at that moment, find stillness, faith, help, resources, friends and whatever you may need until that moment passes.
We are all in this together.
